Guelph Communist: "U of Guelph anti-CFS vote stacked by Zionists"

Excuse me? From the Facebook page of Drew Garvie, a left-wing agitator and perenial Communist Party candidate:
This referendum was totally stacked and more broadly we need to be more organized than the Right to win. The "No" people were a scary bunch of conservatives, libertarians, careerist Admin hacks, zionists and anti-choicers. An equally broad coalition of groups on the left is necessary to keep the CFS in Guelph. - Sat April 10, 2010 at 23:49
Scratch below the surface of a leftist, and you'll typically find an anti-Semite.

In case folks don't know who Drew Garvie is, he's also one of the folks who helped organize the shameful anti-General Hillier protest at the University of Guelph last year.

I find it interesting that he talks about forming a "broad coalition of groups on the left" in order to, I quote, "KEEP THE CFS IN GUELPH". But hang on... didn't the student body just vote overwhelmingly, with a whopping 74% I'll remind you, to terminate their relationship with the CFS? That's right folks, Drew's comments can only mean one thing... that far-left at the UofG is planning to organize an effort to thwart the results of the students democratic vote on their membership with the CFS.

Stay tuned, it looks like this fight is FAR from over...

Great expose on the "anti-racism" industry

The NP's Johnathan Kay has a great report on his investigations into the left-wing "anti-racist" industry, entitled "White & Guilty". Just for context, it's far out groups like this that are likely the root cause of the fiasco that occurred in Ottawa at the Ann Coulter event the other week.
In fact, I felt sympathy for just about everyone in that class. In private conversation, they all seemed like good-hearted, intelligent people. But like communist diehards confessing their counter-revolutionary thought-crimes at a Soviet workers' council, or devout Catholics on their knees in the confession booth, they also seemed utterly consumed by their sin, regarding their pallor as a sort of moral leprosy. I came to see them as Lady Macbeths in reverse -- cursing skin with nary a "damn'd spot." Even basic communication with friends and fellow activists, I observed, was a plodding agony of self-censorship, in which every syllable was scrutinized for subconscious racist connotations as it was leaving their mouths.

While politically correct campus activists often come across as smug and single-minded, I realized, their intellectual life might more accurately be described as bipolar-- combining an ecstatic self-conception as high priestesses who pronounce upon the racist sins of our society, alongside extravagant self-mortification in regard to their own fallen state.

Sounds more like a racist professor to me

Harvard Professor Henry Gates was arrested for "disorderly conduct" at his own home last week for refusing to co-operate with the police officer on the scene. Looks like the "learned" professor basically got himself arrested for repeatedly calling the officer a racist, just because he asked to see some ID.

The Cambridge Police force has since withdrawn the charges. I don't agree. According to the police report, the Professor was yelling "You don't know who you're messing with", almost taunting the police. Sounds to me like he was intending to make the police pay dearly for what they were doing... which was responding to a neighbours call, who thought they were witnessing a break in. Overall, it sounds like the Prof wasn't all that co-operative to me. I know I don't particularly want to co-operate when I get pulled over, but when a cop asks me for some ID, doesn't matter what I'm up to, I produce it.

Now the professor is apparently seeking to turn this into a national "teaching moment" about what he thinks was evidence of racism. Sounds more like a "learning opportunity" for the Professor in "keeping his cool".

Getting more and more disgusted with the "right"

I'm really starting to get sick of this garbage... you know, the folks who claim to be supporting "freedom of speech", and then bring things down into the gutter with personal and baseless attacks like this.

John West, if that's even his real name, is the kind of guy who makes me wish I wasn't aligned with the "conservative" movement.  Get a load of this disgusting shot he takes at Warren over on the Doggeral's blog...

John West said...

Don't be too hard on Kinsella. Rumor has it that his father died at Auschwitz. Apparently, he got drunk and fell out of the gun tower. ;0)

3/23/2008 11:36:00 AM

Oh, you think you're funny dude?  Well guess what... you're not.  That was a disgusting comment, and completely unwarranted.  Everyone know's Warren's dad died of cancer, thanks to the tobacco industry.  Your sickening personal attack on Warren, via his father, who he dearly loved and still misses very much, was WAY OUT OF LINE.

To be honest, I've been disgusted with a growing number of posts I've seen on the blogroll lately... pretty much every post I see on this issue, for the record.  Most of them seem to be nothing more than another Warren bashing session, which all seem to delve down into the gutter of personal attacks... when the irony is, I tend to agree more with Warren on this issue than anyone else.

Yes, I'm an advocate of LIMITED free speech... I don't believe that anyone, ANYONE, has the right to say that anyone from any race is better than, or lesser than, anyone from any other race.  We are all created in the image of God, and as such, are inherently equal to one another... we're all cousins in the human race.

And yes, I agree with Warren in that anyone who publicly advocates any form of racism deserves to be locked up... for stupidity, if nothing else.

Racism is a cancerous tumour that needs to be rooted out of our society.  I support the aims and objectives of everyone who seeks this goal... and I oppose anyone who does not agree with this view, even if they only claim that they're supporting "free speech".

(And yes, I recognize that some people may see a conflict in my views on this one, since I believe, for example, that Muslims, Hindus and Catholics are wrong when it comes to their faiths.  Here's how that works... I believe that we are all equal as persons in the eyes of God.  However, I believe that there can only be one Truth when it comes to faith, as each of these faiths have elements that are mutually exclusive... basically, they can't all be true.  I also believe, however, that everyone is entitled to believe as they wish... regardless of how wrong I may think they are.  Hope that makes sense.)

There, got that off my chest.  Feel free to flame away... I'm sure many of you won't be able to resist.

My bottom line is this... either bring up the level of debate folks, or just SHUT UP... many of you are not doing the cause of conservatism any favours with your gutter level rhetoric.

UPDATE: Welcome to all the readers tuning in via Warren's site.  I sent him the link to this post to let him know firstly of the personal attack on him, and secondly to let him know that not everyone on the right thinks he's an idiot.  Now that I see he's posted it on the front of his website, I'm thinking my hit counter is going to get a workout.  For the record, I still haven't had a chance to actually meet the guy, but I'm pleased to see that he considers me a friend... and not just on Facebook.

UPDATE II: Based on some of the comments, I'd like to be clear... I'm not saying that folks like John West are representative of "the right", just that it's folks like him that bring the rest of us down with him in the eyes of the public. Hope that clears that up. I don't have any intention at this point to drop out of the aggregator, I was just pointing out that some of the stuff that's been said on this issue, and broadcast via the aggregator, hasn't been the most shining examples of conservative thought... and that we need to bring the dialouge up a couple more notches, in my opinion.

Quebec and "Reasonable Accommodation"

Today's National Post has an article discussing how Quebec's recent debates on "Reasonable Accommodation" seem to have gone too far.

I'd have to agree. While I agree with the people of Quebec who have been fighting against "political correctness" run amuck, I also agree that religious freedom MUST be protected.

So, while I disagree with those of the Muslim faith, I do support their right to practice their faith... even the rights of employees wearing the headscarf at work.

More Anti-Israel Liberals

Once again, the Liberal Party members in Alberta help re-enforce the notion that the Liberal Party of Canada has taken a new anti-Israel stance... meet Farhan Chak, the new Liberal candidate in Edmonton-Mills Wood-Beaumont. And I quote...
The butcher of the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps, the notorious Ariel Sharon, has been elected Israel's Prime Minister and has shamelessly withdrawn all pledges grudgingly granted. The Palestinians have been reduced to slaves, thrown into squalor in a land they once inhabited. To add insult to injury, the Israeli government insists on 'showing restraint' by murdering children, raping women, and torturing an entire populace labeling this all as Palestinian 'collective suicide.'
Scary thing is, he's in Edmonton... the one place in Alberta that the Liberals actually have a remote chance of winning.

Let's just hope that Mr. Dion, should he win, doesn't stick him in somewhere like Foriegn Affairs... or National Defence... or Citizenship and Immigration... or International Cooperation... or make him a Secretary of State for Multiculturalism and Canadian Identity... or... or... or...

Let's just keep it simple... let's just beat the guy at the ballot box.

Local Racist Moron

Some idiot who lives around here thought he was being clever when he made what was percieved to be a racial slur towards a good friend of mine the other day. She has, shall we say, a slightly darker complexion than I do, so it's often assumed by many people that she's from somewhere in the Middle-East. In reality, she's half Mennonite, and half Latin American, but she does indeed look Middle-Eastern... which is hilarious, because she gets hit on by older Indian and Pakistani men all the time.

As this guy was walking out of the place where she works, he passes her and quietly says, "Thank you, come again", in a stereotypical Simpsons' Pakistani shopkeeper style. Which took her completely by surprise, so much so that she just stood there with her mouth open for a minute, in total disbelief of what she had just heard. (I'm of course assuming that it was an attempt at a racial slur, as there is some tension locally with some "whites" not liking how the "ethnics" are moving out here from the GTA)

So, if it was indeed a racist remark, then in the process of uttering his oh so clever little slur, he made himself not only look like a scum sucking bigoted racist, but an idiotic bigoted scum sucking racist... because moron, 1) not everyone with darker skin that you is from the Middle-East, and 2) in all likelihood, her Mennonite ancestors where here long before your European ancestors were.

So, if any of you know of any bigoted younger men in South Western Ontario, give 'em what for on my friend's any my behalf... and tell them to go and get on a boat and go back to where their ancestors came from, because we don't want them here in Canada.

(and I say all these things being a first generation immigrant myself)

NOTE: To head off any commenters who think that my comments here are "un-Christian", I would like to ask you, do you defend his actions? Christ called evildoers out on the carpet when He saw them, and this is no different. If this guy is a racist, then such deeds need to be called out and corrected... there is no place for racism in our society. Of course, forgiveness is available to the racist in question, but he has to repent in order to receive it.

UPDATE: After reading this post, the subject of the "perceived" slur asked that a couple of details be clairified, and asked that it be emphasized that she's not 100% sure it was intended to be a slur, but certainly seemed that way. So the post has been updated from the original to reflect that.
