Another Quebec riding up for grabs?
With Bloc MP Louise Thibault bailing on Mr. Duceppe to sit as an independent, the riding of Rimouski-Neigette-Témiscouata-Les Basques (wow, what a mouthful... thank goodness for the "Cut" and "Paste" commands) could now be up for grabs for us in the next Federal vote.
I know what you're thinking... I'M NUTS. Granted, I may well be, but at least hear me out on this one. We lost this one by just over 10,000 votes last time around... under normal circumstances, an insurmountable gap in Quebec. (and we only beat the Liberal candidate by 1000)
But, it's almost guaranteed that the Bloc will run a new candidate. If Ms. Thibault chooses to run again as an independent, she may split some of the Bloc vote. With some of the soft nationalist vote moving to the ADQ in the last provincial vote, the CPC could stand a chance of putting this one in the "WIN" column... that is IF, and that's a really big IF, they can capitalize on the separatist bleeding.

When you have serious vote splitting then a lot of ridings are in 'play.' I see merit in your analysis.

Prescott we've been thinking you're nuts for some time now :) But that's why we love you.

I don't think you are nuts. No one thought Harper would take any seats last time. He is much stronger in Quebec this time around. Anything is possible.
