Liberals and YouTube Media Attention
The media has been going nuts about the Liberals recent embrace of YouTube... this is what Warren & Co. call, "Earned Media". However...
"Here's the issue... the Liberal Party is so broke, is so broke, that they've hired a bunch of kids to put up crappy ads, on YouTube, to have us talk about it... now, is that smart politics? Doesn't sound like it to me."
Bob Fife, on CTV's Mike Duffy Live, April 4, 2007 (1:20 mark)
If this is the kind of "earned media" attention they get from it, THEY CAN HAVE IT!!! Way to go Jason Cherniak! Congratulations on opening up your beloved party to yet another means of ridicule!
I believe this one should be classified under "Politicus Backfireous Maximus"

Does Fife know something that Liblogs isn't admitting? Maybe the reason Cherniak seems to be able to make videos, attend Lib functions and post all day is that he actually is a paid employee.

I don't think they're actually being paid by the party, Bob Fife just said that offhand... I don't think there's anything to it.

This will work well for the Liberals. They can throw any crap they like on Youtube and then deny that they had anything to do with it if it backfires.

I don't know, softtalk. They sure can't deny it in the case of Jason Cherniak. I think he's a federal riding executive.
