Ontario Liberals to tax water
Or, more accurately, the producers of bottled water, who then export it around the globe.
Being in a region that exports a large amount of water to the US and around the globe, I'm actually in favour of this move. Water bottling companies have set up shop all around here, tap into our groundwater resources, pay next to nothing for it, and make huge profits from it. We need to stem, and even reverse, the flow of this most precious resource from our area.
I'm pretty sure that it's going to be a real vote winner in my riding.

Too bad this will neither stem nor reverse their water usage. Companies don't actually pay taxes, their customers do. This is just another tax grab. They can't get their hands on enough money.
