Back to back quakes rock Asia
A 6.6 quake just occured off the coast of Indonesia, followed minutes later with a 7.2 quake off the coast of Japan. What's interesting/scary though is that they may be part of the same fault system... take a look at this image from the BBC's report:Seems to be part of the same fault system, which would not be cool... could be part of a major plate movement.
More to come, I'm sure...
UPDATE: According to this UN report, both quakes may have originated along the fault lines of the Pacific Plate... which covers pretty much the entire Pacific Ocean.
