Dion says Harper "Lying"... PROVE IT
Yesterday, Liberal leader Stephane Dion went off on a bit of a tirade, calling Mr. Harper a "LIAR"... one of the nastiest names in the book when it comes to politics. Mr. Harper and the Conservatives have said that Dion plans to raise the GST, and Mr. Dion replied by calling Harper a liar.
Well, I've dug through multiple stories on yesterday's events, including this one from the Globe & Mail, and I noticed a GLARING omission that lends credience to what Stephen Harper is saying... no where, let me repeat that, NO WHERE, was Mr. Dion quoted yesterday stating clearly and emphatically that he won't raise the GST.
He stood there and called Mr. Harper a liar, but didn't do the one thing that could have silenced the rumours once and for all... question is, why didn't he? Why didn't he stand there and once and for all clear up the matter by saying "We will NOT raise the GST, and we will NOT take away the $1200 Universal Childcare Benefit?"
Or is that part of his "hidden agenda"? Mr. Dion, will you publicly come clean and PROMISE us that you won't take these things away from Canadian families? They've put out a statement buried on their website that says as much, but why didn't he do so publicly? (NOTE: if anyone has the YouTube footage where he did clearly state that, I'll gladly post it here as a correction)
Of course, they've made promises before on the GST...

For what it's worth, CBC had footage last night from Quebec where a reporter asked in French if Dion would raise the GST, and he said no, we will leave it alone.
Something to remember if he ever flip flops and does raise it..

Actually he confirmed that he would leave everything like it is at the end of his interview. Someone asked him. They showed the footage on the CBC last night.
I forgive you though.. I know you guys don't watch the CBC much :)

Yes indeed "I won't be negative" LIAR! LIAR! I have to wonder at his command of the English language. I myself remember Stephant Dion saying he would put the G S T back to 7% he was critical of Stephen Harper lowering it. Liberal's were also very critical of the "child tax credit" Scott Reid's famous "beer and popcorn" remark comes to mind, I think if Mr. Dion has some sort of "hearing problem" perhaps he does not fulll comprehend what he is indeed saying, which in itself is more than a bit strange.
Cheers Bubba
