CTV makes a poor choice in selecting Laflamme

Okay folks, here's my two cents on CTV's announcement... they've made a poor choice, because I lost all respect for Lisa Laflamme due to her blatantly biased reporting at a Paul Martin event during the 2006 Federal Election... an event which I posted on that very evening.

I was outside a Liberal event one evening, where a small crowd of left-wing protesters had gathered to criticize the Martin Government. They had gathered on the sidewalk, blocking his path from the campaign bus to the pub where he was going to make a speech. The RCMP kept him on the bus for a few minutes, and then had to push through the protesters to make a path to get him in.

In the ensuing melee, CTV's Lisa Lafaemme was nearly knocked over by the protesters. In fact, I recall that someone had to catch her so she didn't fall on her butt on the sidewalk. (she managed to duck into an entryway to avoid being trampled)

With such bedlam having occurred, I looked forward to seeing the report that evening. However, giving her report on the air that evening, NOT A WORD WAS MENTIONED ABOUT THE PROTEST. And why was that, I asked myself? I think it was because it would have looked bad for the Liberals, naturally. Sorry, but if she refused to report the REAL news that night, then I simply can't trust her to deliver the REAL news to the nation.

As such, I have come to the conclusion that CTV has made a poor choice in selecting Liberal Laflamme for Lloyd's post.

Not only that, how about her absolutely ridiculous reporting style during the G20 summit. Every other CTV reporter was cool and collected while reporting what was happening, but Lisa was out of breath and sensationalizing every event like there was a bomb about to explode. She should give us the facts and let us decide.

If you think it's a poor choice, then my opinion of the choice just skyrocketed.

    The ulitmate in non-news stories.

    Someone is retiring. Who cares?

People who actually contribute to this country retire every day. Distinct lack of stories about them.

She will do to viewership at ctv national what Couric did to CBC.
During the G20 stunts she pulled she had to know about this promotion,so I think it was all a publicity stunt to get her on the air.
I sent an e-mail to ctv and did get a reply that listed all their sites. ctv is asking for e-mails to send congrats to Lloyd or a thank you. Thank him for what over 50 years of never having a new idea, 50 yrs of never giving both sides of a story. 50 yrs of kissing libs ass and all for not, no senate or gg appointment.
The senate isn't the only place there should be term limits.
Peter and Oliver, take the hint, quit.

    Lisa LaFlamme.
Her Olympic coverage was breathlessly jingoistic and her G20 coverage was hysterical in the real sense of the word.
I don't see her lasting too long after SunTV hits the airwaves.

You would think that with all the years that Floyd has been hanging around they would have found some bench strength.

I agree with anonymous. She sounded like she was in the Blair witch project not reporting the G20 in Canada.

I will make this short. It is one Liberal replacing another Liberal. She has never impressed me and her bias shows every time she reports on the Conservatives.

You would think she was given the GG job with the over the top coverage she is getting. Never used the remote so often as yesterday when every newscast from every network had her on with Lloyd.
By the time Lloyd says goodnight for the last time, she will be very old news, but in the meantime every report she does will be taken apart for bias. Wonder if she can take the heat. So, will cbc be looking for a gal to take over Peter's chair.
