Parents going to sue their kids way into the NHL?
From the completely ridiculous file... two Toronto parents suing the GTHL because their two sons were cut from the team. 70 kids tried out for only 17 spots. They made the cut last year, didn't make it this year. Boo hoo. They must be New Democrats or something.
I'm thinking the parents are just ticked that their "pension" just got smaller.

My dad coached my minor hockey team growing up, and some parents are insane. It is one thing for a talented player to get cut because the coach doesn't like his work ethic, but there are parents of kids who can barely skate who go apes**t because their kid didn't make the team. They are incapable of seeing that their child has no talent.

I know of one parent who took his kid, from age 5, to a hockey practice every morning, at 5.a.m. for several years. Kid was good and made the local teams when he got older, but when he was drafted or whatever you call it to go to the next level, he showed up with ear rings and other piercings, and a gym suit, rejected immediately. Then cried cause he was never asked if he would remove them, to play.
He was told by a lot of people to get rid of them but said, I have my rights. Well, the coaches also had rights to say NO.
