UPDATE: Support Resolution P-117!
I'd like to personally thank National Council candidate Doug Hawkins for quickly showing his support for Policy Resolution P-117, by joining the recently created Facebook group in support of this Resolution's passage.
The campaign for this policy resolution begins now! Check out the Facebook group, read the proposal, share your thoughts, and most importantly, support it with your vote in Winnipeg!

Great resolution Andrew! Also be sure to support P-308, "right to work legislation" for us workers currently forced to join unions against our will.

AMEN DEREK!!!!!!
AMEN!!!
Despite being sympathetic to the labour movement, that is one aspect about labour relations in this country that's ALWAYS iritated me.
Unionizing a shop is majority rule, when it should be up to each and every individual worker whether they choose to pay dues or not.
Why should 50% minus 1 of the workers in a shop be forced to pay dues when they don't want to. It's not right I tells ya.
The vice-versa should apply to those who want to unionize as well.
That's my rant for the day.

The union stuff is provincial is it not? As is maybe what P-117 deals with.
Personally I'd rather give troubled youth the option of the military, vs. your job training plan.
It’s similar to Harris' workfare program, Trust me I love the concept, but it’s unrealistic. In workfare, in order to get welfare you have to do something, like picking up garbage along the roadway. Well what if it’s your job, (unionized or not), to pick up that garbage? Guess what? You’re outta a job now, because we got someone here doing it essentially for free.
With P-117, it looks like the kids who have stayed out of trouble, go to school, who work part time, will not get the apprenticeships they deserve and have earned, because the government would rather give that space to a “troubled” youth. So now you have a good kid who needs work/career. Maybe a life of crime does pay?
Need to be very careful not to eliminate training spaces for those who earned them, and I can’t see how you can do that.
I agree with the concept, but reality may bite you.
