Something tells me...

...that the Chamber of "Sober Second Thought" oughta take some time to give this one yet a further rethink. (a Sober Third Thought, if you will)

Why is talking with them so crazy? A few months ago the government seemed to support that position.

"Afghan President Hamid Karzai has offered the Taliban a position in government if the group renounces violence, and Defence Minister Peter MacKay has supported the proposal."

Just a thought, no real progress towards peace was made in Northern Ireland until it was decided to talk to Sinn Fein and the IRA.

There is no harm in talking is there?

Just another reason to dump these old patronage farts out the door.Negotiate from a position of strength, when Nato & the HoC says so,not because a bunch of political hacks feel that they need to be seen doing something.

    The IRA??
    Completly different.
The politicians on both sides talked for years. It was a war of attrition between the nuts that ended it. People were just sick of the fighting.
If you can, always talk to your enemy. Realize though, the enemy may not want to talk to you.
