Today's news bits and bobs
You can tell I'm British, eh? "Bits and bobs"... and it's all bad news for the Liberals.
1. Andrew Coyne says the Liberals are FINISHED. Ouch.
2. Liberal staffers are quietly conceeding defeat. Some candidates are saying the national campaign is pulling them down, and some staffers are putting out feelers for new jobs post-Jan 23.
3. Men with high paying jobs, who have often supported the Liberals, are switching to the Tories. (a 12% jump this month in that demographic)
4. The CBC has crunched the numbers again and agrees that the Conservatives tax plan will save more people more money.
5. New book on the shelves about Options Canada.
6. Paul Martin's Notwithstanding Clause bombshell will be a dud. And it will make us more like America!

The Globe and Mail's edition on January 9th revealed an article from Andre Picard, Public Health reporter stating the following;
"" An estimated half million female fetuses are aborted annually by parents in India who are desperate for more economically beneficial boys, according o new research.
That translates into at least 10 million "missing girls"...""
Other issues such as polygamy, Sharia law aught to be discussed and voted upon by elected officials in a parliamentary setting. This ensure accountability.
Paul Martin forced his cabinet to vote along his own personal views concerning the definition of marriage and it is at that very moment that democracy failed in our country.
On January 9th, Paul Martin expressed again his very personal view point to change the current Charter to remove the Notwithstanding clause with no representation form his own party that speaks for the voices of many Canadians. To grant unelected officials the right to make these decisions not only circumvents democracy but introduces a form of dangerous dictatorship. This has to be proof that a corrupt criminal government will step over traditional values and the privilege of democracy to gain personal power. An economy built on corruption will fall.
My question to all Members of parliament; Do you support a free vote from parliament on issues that effect all Canadians?
Regards,
Erick Alfaro
