Hill Times: WHO is leading the Liberal Party?
The Hill Times made a MAJOR faux pas today in this article...
None other than Bob Rae.
Was this just a simple editing error... or is there something more to it? ;-)
"As Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff (Toronto Centre, Ont.) pressed Mr. Harper (Calgary Southwest, Alta.) again in Question Period..."Really? The Liberal Leader is the MP from TORONTO CENTRE, you say? Well, just WHO might the MP for Toronto Centre be, you might ask?
None other than Bob Rae.
Was this just a simple editing error... or is there something more to it? ;-)

Not surprised...the media is full of falsehoods, more so since the Liberals have been sinking in the polls, to lower then Dion.

I'm going to go with simple error (which has since been corrected). The line you highlight begins with a reference to "Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff". Who is leading the liberal party? Ignatieff. Who do they say is leading the liberal party? Ignatieff.
Few care about the names of particular electoral districts. If anything, the error here puts Ignatieff as Liberal leader into Toronto Centre, rather than putting Bob Rae (who isn't mentioned) into the position of leader.
I'm surprised that an error like this is a "Major Faux Pas" while inserting a "not" into a federal document to invert its original meaning is of little concern to you...

Hey Anon1152, it's an "inside baseball" kinda thing for political junkies on and off the Hill... the joke being the internal power struggle within the Liberal Party between Iggy and Rae.
Just humour. ;-)

So this is an inside joke? Does this happen all the time and I just don't notice?

Not "often" I'd say... ;-)
