Liberal MP's skip vote to protect pensions?
I've heard some folks asking why these 29 Liberal MP's were chosen to have their prorogue extended by skipping the Budget vote. So I did some digging, and may have found a reason for at least 5 of them... perhaps they volunteered for the "NOT GETTING BACK TO WORK" scheme in order to protect their gold plated Parliamentary pensions?
You see, the following 5 Budget skipping Liberal MP's would have lost out on their pensions had the House fallen last week. Two of them are likely just hoping to hold on until the end of June, 2010. They are...
Ruby Dhalla (elligible June 28, 2010)
Brian Murphy (not elligible until Jan 23, 2012)
Joyce Murray (not elligible until Jan 23, 2012)
Mario Silva (elligible June 28, 2010)
Todd Russell (not elligible until May 2011)

Hold on Liberal MPs... the longer you hold out, the longer the CPC has to get stuff done without the pause of an election (however, maybe an election would be good to get these 'golden opportunists' out of the public purse!)

Believe me, I'm not complaining that there's no election... but I am complaining about Liberal hypocrisy. Just proves that once again, Liberals can say one thing one day, and then do the exact opposite the next, and the MSM never seems to catch on.
