This one oughta throw you all for a loop

Many people seem to think they know where I stand on all the issues, based on my blog name... www.ChristianConservative.ca.

Took one of those online "Political Spectrum" quizes. Check the results and discuss... (and maybe take the quiz yourself to see where you fall, see if the quiz is just whacked out)

My Political Views
I am a centrist social authoritarian
Right: 0.24, Authoritarian: 6.64

Nothing says Christian Conservative quite like Social Authoritarian.

If you feel like retaking it, there's handy comparison tool when you're finished. You can see for yourself if the test is whacked by comparing to Canada, Canadian political parties, the U.S. if you feel like it. My impression from these comparisons are that the test is a bit whacked, and pushes everything to the left a bit. Not sure what country and time their centre is based off of. Also, the test results will have a strong internet bias, by which I mean young and anti-authoritarian on average.

Took the test, found out that I'm "a centrist moderate social libertarian.
    Right: 0.02, Libertarian: 1.42"

Personally, I just refer to myself as conservative. Redneck variety...

I took the test today and scored the same. I googled it to find out the exact meaning of the term, and therefor found your blog. It's a contrived label, I'm sure. Just a way to try to categorize things to make them more understandable, I guess. But, it's nice to meet another "centrist social authoritarian".

I don't find this surprising in the least.

The beating heart of modern social conservatism is not policy or ideology, but a devotion to authority, whether that authority be father, the police, the state, the church, or father figure leaders like George W. Bush and Stephen Harper.

The true link between most modern conservatives is not politics but obedience.
