New Liberal leader leaves door open to kill coalition

Iggy was pretty clear when asked if he was going to vote against the Budget in January... "I can't say if I'm going to vote against a Budget that I haven't seen yet."

He's also been caught in his first, shall we say, "mistruth" at today's press conference, when asked if he'd sit down with Mr. Harper regarding the Budget. He said he hadn't received any such invitation. Guess he was too busy being crowned to watch yesterday's CBC interview with Harper...

Canadian Press: "I hope the next Liberal leader, the first thing he'll do will be willing to sit down with me and have that kind of (economic) discussion," said Harper.

Ottawa Sun: "I’m optimistic that the next leader of the Opposition may want to look at different kinds of arrangements in the best interest of the country," said Harper.

Harper should still extend that invitation to Ignatieff personally, rather than just through the media.

For sure he should, but for Iggy to try grandstanding on day one, trying to make it look like Harper is not willing to work with him when he clearly said otherwise yesterday, on national TV, which was reported by the media, just makes Iggy look arrogant, like he's waiting for a gold engraved invitation on a platter.

could just be more of what's to come ... or he's giving the scripted answers the Liberal elite who rushed him in to replace Dijon and enthroned him over Boob Ray want to hear...

The coalition is dead already ... at least in the eyes of the Governor General. Who else matters?

If the Budget is defeated, the GG will not hand power to a coalition where the lead original signatory has already passed from the scene and the replacement has given no firm assurance that he supports that venture. Unless Iggy signs on the bottom line and demonstrates his willingness to work with the Bloc and NDP, she will not view it as legit.

If the Budget fails, she will have to call an election.

WOW, now THAT'S leadership by Iggy.

Lee Iacocca said something while at Chrysler that I still remember.

" You either Lead,Follow...or GET OUT OF THE WAY"

Iggy appears to be getting in the way so he can blame Harper for any problems in the future .

    BTW
Boob Rae and Iggy are exalted as great thinkers in our time , but after the past 2 weeks can I only think back to something my Grand Mother used to say when labelling mistakes by Nabobs and Elitists.

She called them Educated-Fools , and I'm guessing it was because they had the money to sit and listen to REAL intellects to steal their knowledge and wisdom .
Einstein was humble enough to admit that he wasn't as smart as people made him out to be, he was merely standing on the shoulders of the mental giants that came before him who did all the hard work .
