The CBC and the Looney Left

You can't be more obvious (and idiotic) than the CBC's latest edition of "The Current".

As I was listening to "The Current" this morning, they had an interview with "maverick columnist" Heather Mallick, formerly of the Globe & Mail. Apparently, she quit the G&M, and for the moment, will be doing some work for the CBC. Surprise, surprise.

It was an interesting interview, to say the least. Boy, is she ever a lefty looney! Here's a piece of their chat... Anna Maria Tremonti - "So, in discussing which column writers you regularly read, you've just mentioned a whole bunch from the left of the spectrum... which right wing authors do you read?" Heather - "I don't read any right wing authors... most of them are lazy writers, and their columns are a place where they vent their anger... they don't contribute anything to the collective discussion, so no, I don't read anyone from the right." Actually, she was even more critical than that, but I don't recall it word for word.

Note to the CBC... try fulfilling your mandate of providing Canadians with a diversity of opinions, okay? I can think of a few on the right to help balance things out... try Kate at SDA, for example. I was surprised when they had her posting during the election, but was glad that there was at least one solid voice of reason.

Well, if Mallick is going to be a regular contributer, I'll make sure my voice of displeasure is more loudly voiced to the CBC.

Heard this and changed channels. She was asked whether readers / viewers tend to look for media that reflect their own values.
    I guess she's a proof in point.

I also listened to part of the interview. In her defense Ms. Mallick did mention some former thatcherite who's blog she liked to read so maybe there is still hope for her. But not much. When talking about the "right" most of her comments still dripped with the condescending attitude and air of superiority I have come to expect in the caricature of "liberal" thinkers. Trudeau showed more class than this. Ed Broadbent demonstrated more thought and dignity. The last time I saw this attitude so prominently on display is when Stockwell Day was dismissed as an intellectual lightweight for believing in the bible.

It will be interesting to see if the CBC brings on a voice in counterpoint to Ms. Mallick's.

That's just a joke, your tax dollars to indoctrinate and spill liberal left wing bilge. Thing is, they know if they didn't have their precious funding they would have to downsize, because most people don't even like watching their news. Fox news kicks butt over mainstream media in US, if they would allow it in Canada or have news channels (conservative and liberal) that were either both funded or non funded, a conservative one would kik booty over it in ratings every time. Who wants to watch a bunch of left wing communist ninnys talk about their latest purple teapot?
