CTV's QP

Wow. Craig Oliver is ripping into the Liberal girl today. Many people have been asking me if there's a sense of the tide turning. How could it not be?

This is turning into a dream campaign for the Tories. Keeping on message, steering the media, and the Liberals imploding. Who could ask for anything more?

Let's see if we can keep things rolling till the 23rd...

Not to really put a dimmer on this, but Craig Oliver is the friendliest reporter the Conservatives have. Of every reporter I see on TV, Oliver is the only one who doesn't froth at the mouth whenever a CPC member is on camera, and he openly criticizes the Liberals and the NDP as much as Mike Duffy coddles and safegaurds the rep of the Liberals at every chance he gets.

Of course, if Oliver is actually ripping into somebody, THAT is a little bit over the top even for him.

Sure amazed me this AM.The interview that Craig had with Ralph Goodale was very to the point - I think Craig said "criminal investigation" about 20 times during the interview. I had been waiting all year to see that kind of interview with a Liberal! (okay, so the year was only 12 hours old, but you get my point). Also of note is that it wasn't the Conservatives being blamed for bringing this about, it was the Liberal Party itself.
Even Jane Taber was leaning more to the right (vs the wrong, or the left), and even though she was scorned by the other panelists for her choice of "not hot" for 2005, I think her pick of Belinda Stronach was perfect.
By the way, Happy New Year CC, look forward to your posts through 2006.

I think it's best that the media continues to portray the Conservatives as unlikely winners. A hostile media would love to turn more attention on the Conservatives.
