LINE OF THE DEBATE goes to... LAYTON!!!

No question about it, Jack Layton had the line of the night with this barb he threw at Michael Ignatieff, over his lack of attendance in the House of Commons.

Did you notice that Ignatieff took a step toward Layton at about the 50 second mark? That question really caught him off guard and his physical response appears to be just a little aggressive.

This was hilarious. Hit Iggy right between the eyes.

Many wonder why PM Harper didn't bring up Iggy's attendance better to create a little bickering amongst the coalition.

I thought that line from Ignatieff about trust was pretty memorable. I don't agree with the entire context, just saying it was memorable:

"Majorities are things you earn, and you haven't earned the majority because you haven't earned the trust of the Canadian people. And you haven't earned the trust of the Canadian people because you don't TRUST the Canadian people."

The Visiting Professor seems to think "visiting" includes the House of Commons. Good for Layton for bringing attention to Ignatieff's dismal attendance record, which incidentally seems to have been emulated by a lot of Liberals since most of the non-attenders in the House belong to that party.

I think it would have been perfect for Jack to bring ig up...if the PM had done it he would have been accused of being "mean" plus - given his job...he has had to miss alot as well so it might have opened an attack with no time to defend.

It was better that Jack delivered the line as if the PM had done it, he would have been called MEAN...besides he has missed alot of time himself given the nature of the job and it might have opened him up to an attack back.

All of you must have tuned in a few minutes late because the line of the night was obviously Duceppe congratulating Harper for taking his first question of the campaign from the public.

The only problem is that Jack would say something fairly deep and penetrating and then he would say. "When I form an NDP government. . . ." Since he doesn't have a snowball's chance in hades, it sort of makes a body question his sanity or ability to reason.

The opposition coalition are going at each other.
I find it rather amusing that Layton attacks the Liberals when Layton himself and his party have not voted on many many many bills and budgets that had good things for the public.
for example on this last budget, Layton refused to support yet he is preaching to his people the very same things that were in the budget.
$300million dollar election for nothing. Lyton, duceppe and Ignatieff were the blame for this election.

Layton may accuse Ignatieff of not being there at the parliament but so is Layton because he and party have not supported budgets for canadiens nor have they supported many of the bills particularly pertaining to women etc.
