Uh oh... Obama took cash from BP

This one's going to hurt him with his lefty friends... Obama received over $77,000 from BP during his Senate and Presidential campaigns.

You know, THAT BP... the guys with the leaky oil rig.

In the interest of FULL DISCLOSURE, I should point out that Sen. John McCain has also received money from BP... but likely over a greater number of campaigns, and only about half of what Obama got, to the tune of $44,899.

    Oh Dear !!!

The Pravda media are going to have to work double time to deflect this away from their confederates at Crime Inc. (AKA: The Obama Ratministration)

    But no worries!!

They'll do anything for their fellow supremacist Progs.

    ... and $60M from the unions !

.. and Obama wants to roll private 401K pensions into the government fold. Even the NDP wouldn't dare touch RRSP's in Canada, but I guess $60M buys a lot in Washington.

I was just listening to Sean Hannity in Sirius radio, and apparently Sen. Obama is the single largest individual recipient of monies from BP's PAC and other political committees.

Given that Obama has not been in office for very long, I think the test now is what happens in the immediate future. Receiving donations in the past is one thing. Having one's policy shaped by those who donate, in opposition to the public interest, is quite another.

I want to see what Obama does in terms of oil/environmental regulations now. And I would like to see if the current regulations (or the lack thereof) had anything to do with the accident.

It would be interesting to know who oversaw the creation of the current regulations. It's possible they were established under Bush/Cheney. And I'm sure that the oil companies donated quite a lot to them back in 2000 and 2004.

Surely the rich and powerful give money (perhaps the most money) not simply to those who they may agree with ideologically, but to those who are most/more likely to win. Obama was likely to win with or without BP's money. If I was BP... I'd want to have the winner think that they owe me.
