And so begins the coup within the coup

All I have to say is... GO BOB GO! GO BOB GO!
The Prime Minister had just dodged a confidence vote, which he would have surely lost, by winning permission from the Governor-General to shut down Parliament until late January.

Mr. Dion appeared to be open to changing his mind about defeating Mr. Harper's government, saying that a “monumental change” on Mr. Harper's part would alter that.

That phrase angered some Liberals, who began shouting at Mr. Dion, accusing him of not going far enough, according to a caucus insider. That is when Mr. Rae approached the microphone, telling Mr. Dion that even “monumental change” was not acceptable.

Mr. Dion appeared shocked

It occurred to me this morning, that in fact, the coalition of Liberal Party delegates was what led Stephane Dion to be Liberal Party Leader...Ignatieff and Rae were front-runners in the Liberal Leadership race. Stephane Dion's, Gerard Kennedy's and Martha Hall Findley's supporters all coalesced and gave power to Stephane Dion.

How stable is that coalition today?

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Comrade Rae has been engineering this "unite the left" farce for some time and now that it looks to be falling apart he looks as if he's ready to explode

There is a long record of what happens to useful idiots after the coup. Dion should have taken more history classes.

This just shows that the support for the coalition has more to do with being in power than representing the people.

Dion will leave shortly. Harper's troubles are just beginning.
