Cambridge MP Gary Goodyear makes Cabinet!

Woo Hoo! A great guy, and great news for the Cambridge/KW area. He has been named Minister of State (Science and Technology).

With KW being a major centre for science and technology, with RIM and all the other high-tech firms flocking to the area, this is a fantastic announcement.

    I wouldn't say "fantastic".

Being a chiropractor, he might have been better suited for something like Parl. Sec. for the Min. O' Health

It's not necessarily a bad move, but most certainly interesting

I'm very happy for Gary. This is well-deserved.

I was pleased to see him receive a cabinet position as well. I watched him on the In-and Out hearings and I thought he was terrific, well prepared and knew his material well. I think he would a great benefit in whatever he does. Appears to be a very able man....

Appears I'm in the minority on the Goodyear appointment

I would be interested to hear CC's thoughts on the other members of cabinet, though

I'm not a big Gary Goodyear fan. He did not impress me at a regional policiy conference and at a fund raising dinner he kept checking his black berry while he was giving his keynote speach. Rude and too full of himself.

"he kept checking his black berry while he was giving his keynote speech"

Or, you could view that as him being a hardworking MP who was trying to get a problem solved for a consitituant. You never know...
