Liberal candidate "reflecting on his future"
Another "ouch" for Mr. Dion... another one bites the dust. (though it's not like he had a chance of winning anyway)
Contrast that with Mr. Harper's response to Ryan Sparrow's comments... quick, immediate, full disclosure, and Sparrow is out. So much so, that CTV's Bob Fife commended them for their quick action.
THAT's the difference in this election, where all three campaigns have been making unforced errors in the opening days... the Tories have got the "rapid-response" gig down pat, and are dealing with issues that arise within a single news cycle... getting next to no coverage. (and the Liberal bloggers keep on wondering why the media isn't covering the Tory gaffes the way they're covering the Liberal ones... an effective "rapid-response", that's why)
Liberal in hot water over Oka remarksReporters were promised a news conference for him to explain his comments, but the Liberals "postponed" it without telling reporters.

QUEBEC - A Quebec City Liberal candidate is "in reflection" about his status with the party after telling a newspaper the army should have used lethal force to end the Oka crisis.
Contrast that with Mr. Harper's response to Ryan Sparrow's comments... quick, immediate, full disclosure, and Sparrow is out. So much so, that CTV's Bob Fife commended them for their quick action.

I don't think the Conservatives should be talking up about failed vetting processes, considering their candidate in Halifax just resigned because they were convicted for uttering death threats.
First Puffins, now a Sparrow. What bird reference will be used next?

Liberals and dippers make a lot of nasty comments but surprisingly the media never hears them. (real conservative)
