Clement Cartoon on Reasonable Accommodation

Ouch... from today's National Post. They are indeed walking a very fine line over there.

    Extreme hyperbole demands a hyperbolic response. This cartoon has been scrawled by a person with no concept of Canadian or Quebec history and culture, and is making a comparison to an extremist sect of American history based on nothing more than a kind of reverse form of fear-mongering. If Herouxville is afraid of hordes of curtain-wearing Islamists walking down their streets, then the cartoonist is equally afraid of racist boogeymen appearing from behind the shadows to scare people.

    What is truly sad, is that the cartoonist only makes the distinction that the whites are racist, not bearded head chopping islamo-extremists who push sharia..

    Holy straw man, batman! The cartoon makes no statement whatsoever about the racism of the Islamic members of this situation. Are you saying that by not even discussing it, they are somehow claiming that there is no racism from that faction? Do you have any idea how ridiculous your statement is?

    I'll look forward to seeing the courage of the cartoonist in his next cartoon which will be mocking some Islamists.
