Did Stephane Dion vote in the French election?

Greg Staples would like to know.

And if Mr. Dion did not, the next question is why isn't he taking his civic duty more seriously?

And if he did vote, is his loyalty divided? And just who did he vote for? The right-wing candidate, or the socialist loser/runner-up?

LOL... not that I really care. Just thought it was a funny question.

Mr. Dion has often stated that he does not vote in French elections.

He is a citizen by virtue of his mother.

    Give it a rest.

Why don't you worry about the reports that two Lesbian mothers are better than a traditional parenting couple.

Hey why don't you guys talk about one of the 100 conservative scandals going on right now?
The one trick pony tactic of attack and blame does not resonate as loud after the poor performance of the conservative party.
Harpers reneging on all of his promises.(IE:Income trusts)
Has almost absolute control over the party yet blames cabinate members when the party looks bad, and takes all of the credit from the department, if it produces. I feel sorry for conservative Mp's it must be a horrible job!
Harpers political tactics/iudeology come directly from neo-conservative inputs directed to him by Wacky American republicans.
    Ann Coulter etc...

No, it was Dion's perogative to have French citizenship virtue his mother, it was his CHOICE to actually apply for it, which he did.

I would rather live in the Canada that the CPC are creating than the Cuba the left would rather we model ourselves after that they so idolize.

    Ahhh... you are wrong!

Dion's has it by virtue of his mother. No application, no waiting period.

Leran the facts before you talk out of your ass.

Anon@3:20... perhaps the more important question is to ask why people like you on the left are trying to cover up this story by asking us to move on? Is there more to see here? Is this just the tip of the iceburg on the biggest story in world history? We just don't know, because you, as a member of the vast left-wing conspiracy, don't want us to know... or, maybe you're right, and it's nothing at all. Then again, if you recall, I said as much myself... I just thought the question was funny, end of story. Thanks for keeping it going. ;-)

As for you Zolton, "Harpers political tactics/iudeology come directly from neo-conservative inputs directed to him by Wacky American republicans. Ann Coulter etc..."

Amm, yea, thanks for your deep new and orginal thoughts... NEXT!

"100 conservative scandals going on right now"

    Name 10

Even if you can it would still pale in comparision to the 33 RCMP investigations into Paul Martin's short lived gov't. The only scandals going on in this gov't are laregly manufactured by the opposition and a complicite media searching desperatly for anything to defame the "evil" Conservatives.

"Harpers reneging on all of his promises"

All of them eh? Misrepresent the truth much? I really don't understand how a Liberal can possibly critisize anyone for not keeping all of their promises. What a joke.

    Scandals:

    1. Flhaerty to "clarify" today

    6. Not posting Flights as required by law

    8. Bev Oda`s limos and limos and limos (Can you spell J-u-n-o)
    9. Reynold`s serving as Campaign Manager and a Registered Lobbyist (this one should be worth 2 points!!)
    10. Stephen Harper`s hairdresser and psychic on the public payroll.

Well theres ten and we didn`t even discuss Income Trusts.

    Scandal city with the Tories.

Start the counter-spin and keep this alive!

CC, the earlier posters have a point. This issue is not one that deserves coverage. So what if he voted in the French election. And so what if he didn't. Voters aren't idiots, and would quickly see through the shallow "civic duty" and "divided loyalty" arguments.

And yes, I, among others, would like to hear what your thoughts are on the recent actions of the PMO: the lack of transparency, the contradictory statements, the misrepresentations. I can accept and understand arguments made based on ideology, but I have a difficult time with the false posturing that the Harper government has unparalleled integrity, while their opponents are opportunistic crooks.

"The false posturing that the Harper government has unparalleled integrity, while their opponents are opportunistic crooks."

Perhaps this is the reason the tories can't break into majority territory in any polls? People are too smart to buy the "unparalleled integrity" crap. Especially when every day we're presented with yet another example of why the Tories are just as opportunistic and crooked as the Liberals.

Flaherty to "clarify"- Do words become scandalous when placed in qoutations? Yah carifying possible tax law changes are really scary!

Fortier- CGI Group Inc. has had the contract in question since 1999. Fortier just renewed it.

RCMP Pensions/RCMP Contracts- Well these two points are part of the same issue. I would point out that this scandal is really an RCMP issue, but if you insist on conecting the gov't to it, I'd point out that the scandal began under the Liberals. Also the public accounts committee summoned former Liberal Public Safety minister Anne McLellan, and former Treasury Board president Reg Alcock because in 2004, RCMP whistleblowers sent a package outlining their concerns to those two ministers, requesting the Auditor General undertake an investigation. Obviously nothing was done, so let's just count that one as a Liberal scandal ok?

Bev Oda Limo scandal- She returned $2,200 of the $5,475 cost of the limo rental. Somewhat scandalous.

Bev Oda Fundraiser- All cheques associated with the cancelled event were returned, donations that were not returned were made 5 weeks before the scheduled event.

    Stephen Harper's hairdresser- Non-issue

Got a few credible scandals in there though, good job.

Now let's start a list of Liberal scandals under Martin.

What about Bev Oda's new scandal? The one where she wants to pour money on tory ridings for so-called cultural events? Howcome she didn't extend the offer to non-tory ridings? Isn't that money supposed to be doled out in a non partisan fashion?

Or the one where the military procurement deals are being won by companies that Donald O'Connor used to lobby for?

Shall we talk about the hospital wait-times scam that absolutely no one in the entire country fell for?

Another election promise delivered, I'm sure.

    Oh, I almost forgot:

The Tories' bumbling of the Afghan prisoner's issue is leaving our soldiers open to possible war crimes charges.

Oh I know...It was the Liberals beforehand who made the crappy prisoner transfer deal in the first place. But you would think that a government as smart and capable as our NEW government of Canada would be capable of fixing it, thus making the previous government look even more incompetent, no?

I guess there's only so much you can do when Stockwell Day and Peter McKay are supposed to be part of the solution.

    HAIRDRESSER a "non-issue"???

She`s paid $45K to coiff the PM and he sticks the tab with the taxpayer. THat is an issue!

    How about the poll?

    How about Bernier`s flights?

RCMP Pensions, the scandal is that Stockwell Day was briefed about it and did nothing for several months!!!
