Memo from PMO to critics... SHUT UP

Here's a PM that shows some decisive action, for a change. Prime Minister Harper has arrived on a surprise visit to Afghanistan to show our troops that CANADIANS SUPPORT THEM.

Did you hear that moonbats? CANADIANS SUPPORT OUR TROOPS.

A couple of friends of mine have done tours of duty over there, and may end up back there. They ARE making a difference. The average people over there are turning AGAINST the terrorists. But of course, the media wouldn't want you to know that... it would ruin their daily "this is an unjust war" byline.

??? I'll admit, the title of my post was intended to be quite direct, but what have I said here that "unChristian"?

Well, unless you can provide a relevant chapter and verse citation (Oh, go ahead and make one up. No one's even read Deuteronomy, after all.), it would be around the time you screamed "SHUT UP!" and used the epithet "moonbats".

Hardly "christian" by anyone's definition of the word.

Hope this clears it up for you.

    So stupid.

You can't DEMAND people's support, especially by telling them to shut up and by calling them moonbats. What do you think we all are, misbehaving children? You, precisely, are the reasons why others keep on being suspicious of this mission, Harper's inane cheerleading notwithstanding. And you do damage to the optics of this mission and to the troops you think you're supporting.

Change the tone or shut up about this, because you are not helping.

And the real question is...If your freinds are there, why aren't you?

Exactly. When are all you robust, combative fighting keyboarders going to enlist?

Especially you, Mr. Christian Conservative. Don't crusades and martyrdom hold any attraction for you? Or is your Christianity limited to sneering at and insulting everyone else?

I agree, when has any recent prime minister actually went and visited our troops anywhere, for that matter. Certainly not Chretien. I think it's important that the troops know that they are supported in their mission. Especially when the news is reporting that canadians don't support them, it's good that they know there are also a lot of Canadians that do support what they are doing. It's probably alot more of a relief to know that the Prime Minister is one of those supporters.

To all of you who are questioning ChristianConservative's christianity, get a life. Really. Where in the bible does it say, that it is not right to tell someone whois speaking absolute foolishness to be quiet? However, you have to realize that Jesus wasn't even one that wouldn't label people as they were, especially when they were wrong. Ex. In the book of matthew, jesus casts out a demon. The pharisees say that it is because Jesus is a demon that he is able to do this. Jesus then goes on to say"...You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good?..." A bit harsh, huh? But it was true.

However, I think that you all are taking offense because, you feel you have a right to speak your opinion about the war and don't feel that anyone has the right to belittle you and your opinions. You're right. you also have to realize that soldiers are in the midst of fighting dangerous taliban leaders and zealots. These are people that will attack them in any way possible and at any given time. Must they also have to take the attacks of their ideals, by their own fellow canadians? How is that helping them? The Canadian Army has been sent to Afghanistan, by none other than the liberals, and they aren't going to pulled out as soon as the going gets a little rough. To do that now, would only foster resentment in the canadian military towards people that already give the canadian military such little respect. Not only that, but if they left the taliban could very possibly again take power.

    Cheers!

Note to 2nd last comment - Chretien did visit troops in Kabul. However, I still agree with most of what you said.
