Liberals to pull down the House?

David Asper, chairman of the Nationl Post, has a message for the Federal Liberals... "Go ahead, make my day".

Bill Graham has been threatening to bring down the House over the "childcare" deals, and force another snap election. The funny thing is, David Asper (and the whole Asper Family) have been Liberal supporters for decades... and have now jumped over to support the Tories. Now, it's almost like Mr. Asper is daring the Liberals to pull the trigger, cause he thinks that will give us what we want... a Tory majority.

I'm torn on this one... do we make do with our minority, or go for all the marbles?

I'm thinking... still thinking... I honestly can't answer that one.

I guess I'm weird... I'm one of those people who LOVE elections...

Bravo to David Asper for calling a spade a spade. Not that any liberal will actually listen.....

The liberals have not learned a thing. They still believe they are the governing party and are blinded by their greed to regain power at any cost. At first I thought they were playing a tough stand bluff, but now I think they are out of their minds with jealousy.

Have the Aspers really seen the light? I hope so. Graham and the rest of the Liberal pact are crazy enough to think that the Emerson/Fortier issue is enough to make Canadians vote Liberal again. They are whistling through their heads. However, that wouldn't be strange for Liberals. The Emerson/Fortier situation was media driven and helped by a cabal of Liberals and NDPers in V-K riding. Are the V-K electors upset..probably but beyond that and a few others the defection and appointment never caught on with the public. Look at the letters to the editors in the major dailies. Not a word. So Graham and Layton better not get caught up in their own rhetoric and bring the House down because the Conservatives will get a majority which would be good for Canada.

Hey we're talking about the "Natural Governing Party" here. If a political party has the gall to refer to itself in this way don't ever be surprised by its arrogance.

I wonder what goes on in the Liberal mind, I truely wonder how many Liberals still believe this is some kind of unfortunate accident. Now that Paul is gone Canadians should welcome them back with open arms, right?

    jeesh

Bill Graham is grand standing. The Liberals are trying to attract attention and set the agenda and tone in the next session. They hope by being more "media friendly" they can shape public opinion against the Conservative platform and use that as a spring board back into the governing chairs.

I am curious to see how Prime Minister Harper will deal with a fickle media. They will eventually tire of the "cone of silence" around the Conservative party and start "inventing" news to bump up ratings. Most of the news will probably be anti-Conservative and, as everyone knows, you throw enough mud around and some of it will stick.
