We're not talking some low level volunteer folks... we're talking about Mark O’Halloran, the Executive Director of the Liberal Party of Prince Edward Island.

The executive director of the Liberal Party of Prince Edward Island is apologizing after he was caught on camera removing political signs put in place by local Conservatives.
Patrick Ross, a Conservative campaign worker, photographed Mark O’Halloran removing the lawn signs less than five hours after they were put up.
Those lawn signs read: “Say no to the Dion tax!” The signs were strategically placed below Liberal billboards throughout the capital city.
Photos provided to The Guardian show a close-up of the back seat of O’Halloran’s car, which was stacked to the roof with lawn signs, many of which had their stakes snapped in two.

If this would be a Conservative stealing a Liberal sign, they (the Liberals) would trip over themselves trying to look indignant while demanding the Conservative resign. Mark O’Halloran ought to be asked to resign. Isn't stealing an election sign an offense ?. I'm not sure if it's federal or not. Like one of the commenters said, "If O'Halloran can get away from a federal offense by apologizing, don't tell the inmates at the Kingston Pen that.

You know, this would surprise me, if it weren't for the fact that it was a Liberal.

Face it
This is NOT just vandals.
Election vandalism often links directly back to parties and their organizations.
I'd go into more detail, but nothing I have to say will change the fact that parties DO condone electoral vandalism.
Makes me sad

Don't think we will have it played out on CBC the NATIONAL...the story has to be 10 years old.
Speaking of elections....today is the deadline for Dions DEBT to be paid. Anyone know if it got paid, or if the un biased election Canada gave him MORE extensions?

Of course, this will be above the fold on page 1 of the Toronto Star. And the people's network will have it as their lead item. It is a federal offence. The Criminal Code is a federal statute.

It's an indictable offense.
From the Canada Elections Act:
325. (1) No person shall prevent or impair the transmission to the public of an election advertising message without the consent of a person with authority to authorize its transmission.

I sent a letter to CTV that they need to cover this. If they are going to give air time to Liberals like Bob Rae desperatley trying to make mud stick with regards to the latests two incidents of Tories copying speeches, then this certainly also qualifies as a story. Let us see where they objectivity lies.

Does that make Elections Canada and accessory if they do nothing?

Did anyone actually read the story? The local Liberals checked with Elections Canada and were told to take down the signs. Elections Canada has admitted it and has said that they made a mistake.
The issue was the authorized by line was so small that it was missed.
