Liberal e-mail Hypocricy

Oh the utter hypocricy that just arrived in my inbox!

Under our Leader Stéphane Dion, the Liberal Party of Canada has pushed the envelope on public awareness of this crisis. We are the only political party with the conviction to act and the capacity to govern.

Stéphane Dion and the Liberal Party of Canada understand that action must be taken now. We need to work with our industry, with government and with citizens to deliver real results on climate change.

Please take action now by helping to support the Liberal Party of Canada. Your donation of only $10 a month can help the Liberal Party get its message of a richer, fairer, and greener Canada to the Canadian people.

Yours sincerely,

Michael Ignatieff, M.P.
Deputy Leader
Liberal Party of Canada
OH... MY... GOODNESS. How on earth could they have even contemplated sending out such an e-mail after they have TWICE IN TWO WEEKS DELIBERATLY REFUSED TO ACT???

"We are the only political party with the conviction to act" - I'm sorry sir, but your "convictions" sure haven't matched your actions of late.

"Stéphane Dion and the Liberal Party of Canada understand that action must be taken now." - You mean NOW? As opposed to yesterday, when you had the chance to defeat this supposedly horrible Government? Or do you mean NOW, as opposed to last week, when you could have directly voted against a Throne Speech that clearly stated, "We will not meet out Kyoto targets"?

Mr. Ignatief, it's time to face the music... you and Mr. Dion had the chance to "stand up" to our Government by standing up... AND YOU DIDN'T. In the words of, ammm, yourself, "Michael, you didn't get it done."

Slightly OT, but re: a comment on a previous post:
I had no idea who Brett Barr is so I when I googled his name the info that appeared was very unsettling. Do you have any further comment or explainations?

Ouch. Iggy and Stephane may want to start re-thinking this one.
