Liberal MP Andy Scott to Retire

Add another one to the class of '93 who won't be running again.

It came down to just 3300 votes last time around... and the Tories in 2006 halved the difference from the 2004 election. I don't know who we've nominated in Freddy Beach this time around, but Andy's retirement may have just put Fredericton into our "WIN" column come election night!

I hope not. Canada does not need more Bush-Harper conservatism.

Nominations have not taken place. But the best bet is Brian MacDonald. A young, ex-military man, entreprenuer and a gentleman who has chosen Fredricton as his own. No baggage and not part of the Old-Fredericton-reflex-voting-Liberal gang.
You could be right. Fredericton desrves better than they had.

Uh oh looks like someone has a case of Bush-Derangement Syndrome, haven't seen it too much this side of the border lately.

Let's all feel sorry for anonymous 11:58:00 AM. It can't be easy being a leftist these days, what with the Liberals sliding in the polls, and the NDP apparently taking steps to dissociate themselves from Robert McClelland's blog.

I'm just sorry the voters didn't kick him out first. Oh well, still a good day for Fredericton.

Bush conservatism and Harper conservatism are two different things. Could you please clarify your point.

It is nice to see him go. However, I'm not convinced that Fredericton will ever vote Conservative on the federal level. Perhaps it is time for Brad Woodside (the Mayor) to go for the Federal PC position.
