Early Gift to the Tories
New Liberal leader Stephan Dion just partially gave back to the Tories the gift we all wanted for Christmas... Ignatieff named Liberal deputy leader.
Woo hoo! The gift that keeps on giving is going to be sticking around in the limelight! And Bob Rae has been appointed to help write the election platform? Oh man, did we secretly get one of our CPC guys into Liberal HQ to help make these decisions?
Cue the music! "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..."
UPDATE: Looks like some Liberals don't think it's such a hot idea either. Thanks for coming here and contributing your two cents Werner.

is that the same Bob Rae that ran a leadership campaign on a "no policy" basis ??
Sounds like the ideal dude to be in charge of the election platform.
As for Iggy's new gig . . . Dion is just following the old dictum "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer"
I'll bet Belinduh is disappointed she wasn't selected for the deputy role. All that money for a "smarter" hair doo has been wasted.

I fully agree with you. As a Liberal (and Liblogger), I am disgusted with Ignatieff as deputy leader. The man is an arrogant fool who should have never been allowed outside his Ivory Tower in academia.
As a result of today's announcement by Dion, I am fully prepared to accept defeat in the next federal election (and in this case, I have to say, the party deserves to lose - just add it to the fiasco and manipulated game that the convention and the whole delegated system turned out to be, which effectively disenfranchised grassroots members).
The more I think about it, the more I am becoming convinced that the party still needs extrea time-out on the penalty bench. I had hoped that the defeat in January would be salutary for the party, but unfortunately, no lessons have been learned, apparently.

Re:"the party still needs a time-out" or something to that effect.
DUH! The Liberals deserve to be wiped-out, not just given a time-out!!!
How anyone can still publicly admit they vote Liberal is beyond me. Seriously.

Werner Patels is confusing. He's thinks Kennedy was the end all for a candidate. His boy Kennedy trusted Dion enough to support him and therefore, unless Kennedy is stupid, don't you think it's a bit hypocritical to not trust a man you support?
Werner is mad because Kennedy didn't get the nod - plain and simple.
In fact, Werner's pumped up opinion of himself and his opinions are getting really tiresome.

Gee, look at the gifts the Toryies gave us - MacKay, Ambrose, Kenney, and Doris Day.
Oh and then there's the woman hater - Bev Oda.
