Iffy caves to caucus, flip-flops on Immigration Reform bi-partisanship

And even the Globe & Mail can see it's a full blown caucus revolt...

Liberal MPs have forced Michael Ignatieff to swallow his words and scuttle a brewing bipartisan deal on major refugee reforms, jeopardizing the bill and revealing the leader’s shaky hold on his caucus.

Until the last minute, Mr. Ignatieff didn’t see the danger zone in his own party: In the Liberal caucus, getting wires crossed over immigration issues leads to nasty shocks.

More grist for the coalition mill here. As the Liberal party continues to lean to the left the more the blue Liberals will move to the modern Conservative party.

Main stream Canadians who pay attention and main stream Liberals will see this immigration bill as a needed reform. It aligns us with the rest of the Western world with our immigration policy.

Has anybody disclosed why there was a revolt within Iggy's caucus to a bill that even the Toronto Star endorsed?

    The Lib party is leaderless.

-They defeat their own abortion gambit
    - Coalition talk even though officially it is off the table
-Cannot whip votes on gun registry
    - Now the leader cannot speak on behalf of his party on immigration policy.

Liberal infighting - this is becoming unmanageable. Literally in a 24 hour day, political positions change 180 degrees. What do Liberals stand for - only a soothsayer throwing the chicken bones can say for sure. Cheers. FernStAlbert
