Ontario Liberal says "Remember 1984?"
Earlier today, it was veteran Liberal organizers who were speaking out about the sorry state of the Liberal campaign. Now, it's former Liberal Cabinet Ministers, and even veteran Liberal Provincial Cabinet Ministers from Queen's Park.
From The Toronto Star:
From The Toronto Star:
"I can tell you the average person on the street doesn't understand the carbon tax," [Former Federal Liberal Fisheries Minister] Efford said after listening to Dion speak at a breakfast gathering.Someone get the defibrillator ready for Cherniak!
Efford's remarks came as a veteran Ontario cabinet minister warned that Dion's Liberals appear headed for the party's worst defeat since prime minister Brian Mulroney swept to power 28 years ago.
The minister and several colleagues – in Goderich, Ont., for a provincial Liberal caucus retreat – privately offered some candid assessments and advice for their beleaguered federal cousins, who are struggling in the polls.
"I was out on the weekend and I've never seen anything like it," said the minister, a political veteran who has been canvassing door-to-door the last few days.
"I said to the young guys with me, 'Do you remember 1984?'"
That year, the Progressive Conservatives under Mulroney captured 211 seats, reducing the Liberals under John Turner to 40 seats and the NDP to 30.

Well, I prayed to Thor today and consulted the tea leaves. They both said Conservative support is soft.
See how the first sentence I wrote above affected the perceived merit of the second? This is because the first sentence makes you doubt my capacity for rational thought.
It's much the same here.

A wasted prayer, praying to a non-existand "god"... but the One True God is ready and willing to hear your prayer, through His Son the Lord Jesus Christ.
