Take a good look at the electoral map for Toronto's election, and tell me what it looks like to you...
Yup... once again, Downtown Toronto gives everyone else the finger.

See, now I saw that and thought it was the suburbs giving the finger to downtown Toronto as they did when they held their noses and voted for Ford (and for cuts to services and for an end to waste and for gridlock and an end to bikes/war on cars and an end to more taxes and in favour of greater debt).
Or maybe, because of the bigger debt and mess we'll now have in Toronto, it's Toronto giving the finger to the rest of the province who will suffer from a dysfunctional more quickly dying Toronto and will need provincial money to bail us out and get us on track for the Pan Am Games.
Nevertheless, good funny catch.

Toronto continues to be that island of shrinking Liberal support. Steady on my Conservative friends.

So the glass if half full or half empty? Yes downtown Toronto voted liberal. On the other hand the rest of Toronto voted conservative. If you compare this map to the map of the last election I bet you would find the liberal enclave has drastically been reduced.
